Amanda Katherine Designs began as a simple escape from my busy life as a nurse. I was looking for a hobby—something hands-on and creative to balance long shifts and emotional days. What started as a small side project quickly grew into a true passion, and over the last year it has rapidly developed into the business it is today- small, personal and able to give others a beautiful piece of history at affordable prices. Refinishing furniture was never started to gain financially but rather to bring happiness to others. Amanda Katherine Designs pieces are priced at the cost of the piece, paint and materials making it truly affordable. 

My love for restoration and design is deeply rooted in my family history. My grandparents were antique dealers later in life, and they spent years restoring the oldest home in Sunderland, MA, built in 1720. Their home, located near the historic Buttonball Tree, became a local landmark and a symbol of dedication, craftsmanship, and love for preserving the past.

I feel incredibly lucky to have been able to purchase their home. Today, I’m raising my family in the same house I grew up in, surrounded by memories, stories, and pieces of history in every room. Amanda Katherine Designs is my way of honoring that legacy—breathing new life into old pieces, and helping others fill their homes with character, warmth, and meaning.
